Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Secure Vehicle Transfer application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. The App is provided by Cox Automotive, Inc. ("Cox Automotive," "we," "us," or "our"). If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Authorized Use
The App is a B2B enterprise application intended exclusively for use by authorized dealership staff and verifiers who participate in the VECU vehicle custody platform. Access to the App is granted through your employer or the dealership that has enrolled in the VECU platform.
You agree to:
- Use the App only for its intended purpose of verifying vehicle custody credentials
- Not share your login credentials or allow unauthorized persons to use the App
- Comply with all applicable laws and your organization's policies when using the App
3. App Functionality
The App provides the following functionality:
- VIN scanning via camera OCR, photo gallery, NFC tags, and manual entry
- QR code scanning for customer digital credential verification
- Real-time verification status display (approved, denied, or expired)
Verification results are provided by the VECU platform and reflect the current status of a customer's digital credential at the time of scanning.
4. Intellectual Property
The App and all associated intellectual property, including but not limited to software, designs, trademarks, and documentation, are owned by Cox Automotive, Inc. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App in accordance with these terms.
5. Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part of it
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use the App for any purpose other than vehicle custody credential verification
- Attempt to bypass or circumvent any security measures in the App
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the VECU platform
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. COX AUTOMOTIVE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, COX AUTOMOTIVE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
8. Termination
Cox Automotive may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Your right to use the App terminates automatically if you violate these terms or if your authorization through the VECU platform is revoked.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last revised.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
